Latest information from As If By Magic (the new owners):

• “Hello Prince of Wales Facebook Family,
• We hope you are well despite even more storms and inclement weather.
• The demolition and strip out of the Prince of Wales continues and much of the pub is back to bare walls, floors, and ceilings.
• The ceilings have been stripped back showing the current joists and this process has released some of the history of the pub over the years. The photograph shows cigarettes and matches that literally fell out of the ceiling!
• It would be great if any of you could tell us more about them, perhaps the year they were from? Maybe a relative or patron used to smoke the same brand? It would be fab to see your comments in the chat/thread. These items will increasingly become great curiosities as smoking becomes a thing of the past so we will do some research from our side and update you next time.
• Elsewhere in the building, repairs continue to the structure and in the immediate coming weeks the building team will be introducing one or two new structural openings."
